On April 17, 2017, KIGA Labs Toronto hosted the Canada-Korea Startup Round Table in Seoul, Korea. In collaboration with the Korea Institute of Startup Entrepreneurship and Development (KISED), Korea Business Angels Association (KBAA) and the Korea Business Venture Association (KOVA); KIGA Labs Toronto invited the Honourable Reza Moridi, Minister of Research Innovation and Science to a round table discussion. As a simplified format of the Canada Korea Startup Venture Forum held in previous years, this event placed an emphasis on an open discussion about the Canadian and Korean startup ecosystems. This round table event was held with prominent government officials, including His Excellency Eric Walsh, Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of Korea, to gain a deeper understanding of global market trends and opportunities for collaboration between both countries. The round table allowed relationships to form value producing partnerships that will enhance the competencies of the Korean and Canadian startup ecosystems; expanding the opportunities for talents, startups as well as excellence in AI technologies
